What’s the problem?
Christian youth in Pune are navigating major life transitions around education, relationships, work, identity, faith but many feel they’re doing it alone. They crave mentors who not only share their faith but also relate to their personality, struggles, background, or life stage. However, current mentorship structures in churches are often:
- Generic and one-size-fits-all
- Sporadic or inconsistent
- Not easily accessible digitally
- Lacking relevance to modern challenges
Most mentoring efforts are focused on Bible studies or occasional check-ins rather than life-on-life, personality-aware, spiritually nourishing relationships.
Why is this a problem?
- Without mentors, youth make isolated, uninformed decisions in relationships, career, identity, or even theology.
- Faith stagnates when it isn’t modeled in real, everyday situations by older believers.
- Anxiety and confusion increase, especially when youth face emotional challenges and have no one to process with.
- Online voices and secular influencers often become default “mentors,” shaping worldviews that drift from biblical truth.
What happens if we don’t solve this?
- A generation grows up without godly role models who understand and walk with them.
- Youth become spiritually shallow, not knowing how to apply faith in modern contexts.
- Emotional struggles increase, from anxiety to isolation, due to lack of support.
- Churches remain age-siloed, where older believers don’t know how to invest in the next generation.
- Kingdom impact is delayed, because leaders aren’t developed early and relationally.
